Mugler

It’s almost noon in Paris as the models from the House of Mugler descend on the runway to present the Spring/Summer 2020 collection. We remember fondly the rich legacy that Paris’s own Thierry Mugler, created in 1974 but look ahead now to what the current creative director, Casey Cadwallader has envisioned for an eager audience.

When others are discussing the importance of being inclusive, Mugler just is. An eclectic array of beauties both male and female featuring various proportions and maturities model form-fitting frocks to everyone’s delight. Thought-provoking designs start to trickle down the runway conjuring waves of emotion. Sensual, revealing bandage dresses, body-shaping corsets, shirtless male models wearing expertly tailored trousers, deep plunging silk blouses all conspiring to create mysteriously dramatic silhouettes.

Although it’s only been a little short of two years since the scepter was passed to Cadwallader, he has easily established himself in the Mugler brand, his designs envoke a lingering desire for more long after they depart the runway.
