If you haven't heard of the English metal rock band Sleep Token yet, well, then you might be living under a literal rock. With the release of "The Summoning" and the subsequent release of their third LP, Take Me Back To Eden, in 2023, the band seemingly skyrocketed overnight from the underground music scene to mainstream headliner status.
Formed in London in 2016, and shrouded by an aura of mystery-- led by the vocalist known as Vessel, the band members remain anonymous by wearing masks while performing onstage. Their genre-bending, unique sound can best be described as a melting pot of metal, rock, electronica, and R&B sprinkled with ambiance.
On May 9, 2025, they dropped their fourth album Even in Arcadia and within a week, the first single, "Emergence" landed on the Billboard Hot 100 after gaining more than 9.9 million plays in the US, marking it the first time the band landed on the U.S.-based chart. The second single "Caramel" is certifiably a banger with lyrics like, "Wear me out like Prada, devil in my detail. I swear it's getting harder even just to exhale." Alluding to the pain caused by trying to maintain their anonymity as they become more famous.
Whether fan or skeptic--Trust me when I say that Sleep Token is definitely worth checking out.
